Our safeguarding commitment

TAG works with children, young people and adults who may be vulnerable. Safeguarding is built into recruitment, induction, supervision, consent, information handling, session planning, lone working, risk assessment and partnership delivery.

People and practice

Practitioners work within TAG’s safeguarding and child-protection procedures, code of conduct and professional boundaries. Roles involving regulated or eligible activity are subject to appropriate safer-recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS checks where required.

Working with schools and services

Before delivery begins, TAG agrees referral, consent, information-sharing, escalation and emergency arrangements with the commissioning school or service. Concerns arising during delivery are recorded and passed through the agreed safeguarding route.

Dogs and session safety

The Baxter Project uses behaviour-assessed companion dogs within clear animal-welfare, dog-handling and risk-management procedures. Allergies, phobias, cultural considerations, location and individual needs are considered before participation. Engagement with a dog is never forced.
